“Imprison, deny education and employment”: Koshulynskyi proposed measures to discourage the use of the Russian language
11.10.2025 10:01Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated that Ukrainian intelligence is interfering in the country’s public life and domestic politics.
He shared these statements on X and reiterated them in an interview with Kossuth Radio.
“Ukrainian intelligence is not just monitoring Hungary — it has infiltrated the country through the pro-Ukrainian party Tisza. They have penetrated public life and politics, providing technological assistance to their allies to help them come to power,” said the Hungarian prime minister.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to the accusations through its spokesperson.
“These accusations have become constant, and their absurdity continues to grow… We deeply regret that the government of our neighbor, Hungary — the government of Viktor Orbán — is fueling an anti-Ukrainian hysteria that has no basis whatsoever,” said MFA spokesman Heorhiy Tykhyi.
Earlier this week, Hungarian media linked a data leak from the TISZA party’s app to a possible “Ukrainian trace” in its developers. Party leader Péter Magyar denied this and called it an attempt at discreditation. Independent and opposition media also report mutual accusations between the sides. The government has provided no direct evidence of “Ukrainian interference.”
The exchange of accusations intensifies the long-standing Hungarian-Ukrainian tensions amid Russia’s invasion and EU disputes over Ukraine’s European integration. Orbán regularly criticizes support for Ukraine and blocks EU decisions, while Kyiv responds with sharp statements and by summoning the Hungarian ambassador.
