22.12.2025 08:31Europe’s sanctions against Russia have destroyed not so much Russia’s economy as Europe’s own.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán wrote on the social network X.
“Brussels promised that sanctions would crush Russia. Instead, they crushed Europe. Energy prices soared, competitiveness collapsed, and Europe is falling behind,” he said.
Earlier, Orbán stated that the EU’s seizure of Russian assets is equivalent to a declaration of war. He emphasized that such actions have never gone unanswered in history. The politician confirmed that he will oppose confiscation at the EU summit, and that if such a decision is adopted, Hungary will file a lawsuit with the EU Court of Justice.
