The most economically active groups are students (68 %) and those who are looking for a work abroad (45 %). These groups are more likely than other categories of refugees to consider not returning to Ukraine.
Depending on how events unfold, between 1.3 and 3.3 million Ukrainians could remain abroad.
In terms of the negative impact on the economy, this corresponds to an annual reduction in Ukraine’s GDP of between 2.7% and 6.9%.
