
Kremlin warns of expanded “buffer zone” following NATO summit in Ankara
10.07.2026 11:32Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the next phone conversation between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump can be arranged quickly without any advance preparation — as soon as the need arises.
Peskov made the statement at a briefing, confirming that no new talks had taken place since the two leaders last spoke on July 4.
“Indeed, no phone call has taken place yet. No special preparation is required for this. It can be arranged very promptly,” Peskov said.
The spokesman also added that the situation remains under control and that contact will be established without delay if necessary.
“As soon as it becomes necessary, this conversation will be promptly arranged and held,” Peskov concluded.
