04.05.2025 - 10:05Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico to meet with Russian representatives and delegates from other countries during his visit to Moscow on May 9.
This was announced by the country’s Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Tibor Gašpar.
According to Gašpar, the details of the visit are still being worked out, but he is already aware of Fico’s plans to meet with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
“The program is still being prepared. I know that he would like to meet with the heads of some delegations who will also arrive [in Moscow] on this significant day (…) These meetings are expected to take place on May 8–9,” the politician revealed.
Earlier, Gašpar said that by visiting Moscow on May 9, Fico aims to express Bratislava’s gratitude to the soldiers who died liberating it, and to show that the people of Slovakia remember all the sacrifices made during World War II.
