Total blockade is already being discussed between Warsaw and Kyiv. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk. However, the Ukrainian side denies such a possibility.
“I do not hide that we are talking to Ukraine about temporarily closing the border. I am ready for tough decisions regarding the border, but in agreement with Ukraine. It is about temporarily closing the border and halting trade in goods. Such a decision will be only temporary and mutually painful. Poland has a trade surplus with Ukraine. We sell much more,” Tusk said.
Recall that Polish farmers began blocking the Ukrainian border due to cheap Ukrainian agricultural products. However, the list of goods that are disadvantageous to Poland in terms of imports is much larger. The same applies to other Ukrainian goods and services, so Polish truck drivers previously closed the border. A real trade war has already begun between Ukraine and Poland.
