November 3, 2023Polish hauliers have postponed the start of their blockade of freight transport movement near the three major border crossing points on the Polish-Ukrainian border: Korcheva-Krakovets, Khrebenne-Rava-Ruska, and Dorohusk-Yahodyn, from November 3 to November 6.
This announcement was made by Tomasz Borkowski, the co-chairman of the blockade and the organizer of the protest near the Korcheva-Krakovets crossing point.
Borkowski stated, “The blockade will begin at 12 o’clock local time (13:00 Kyiv time) on November 6.” He added that the blockade will simultaneously start at all three locations near the border with Ukraine.
According to him, the protest has been officially registered by Polish hauliers with local authorities until January 3, 2024.
Borkowski also mentioned that the participants of the action will block the passage of freight vehicles but will allow humanitarian and military aid to enter Ukraine.
In late October, it was reported that Polish hauliers threatened to close the Polish-Ukrainian border by the end of the year. They planned to gather near the Korcheva-Krakovets crossing point on November 3, and the strike action had already been coordinated with local authorities. Ukraine sent a diplomatic note to Poland, requesting that it prevent the blockade by Polish hauliers of the common border.
