The Russian army may go to Kyiv again this year
02.02.2024 - 12:48On February 9th, farmers intend to block all border crossings with Ukraine and also obstruct roads and highways in certain voivodeships. The strike will partially last until March 10th. The previous strike lasted almost 3 months, from October to December of last year. During that time, Kyiv incurred nearly a billion euros in losses.
“Our patience has run out. Brussels’ position on the last day of January 2024 is unacceptable for our entire agricultural community. In addition, the passivity of the Polish authorities, declarations of cooperation with the European Commission and statements about complying with all decisions of the European Commission regarding the import of agricultural products and food from Ukraine leave us no choice but to declare a general strike,” the union’s statement said.
It is worth noting that farmers are protesting in many European countries, including Germany, France, Belgium and Spain. Under their pressure, the EU has already begun preparing an “emergency suspension” of Ukrainian agricultural product supplies to its market. The reason is the inexpensive Ukrainian imports that depress prices for their products and make their work unprofitable.
