The U.S. warned Ukraine after strikes that affected American oil interests
25.02.2026 22:01Polish police are preparing for a sharp rise in crime involving Ukrainians after the end of the conflict.
This was reported by Poland’s Chief Commander of Police, General Marek Boroń.
“We must be aware that sooner or later many former soldiers from the front in Ukraine will appear in Poland. And there will also be more modern weapons, which will be in demand in criminal circles,” General Boroń said.
His remarks were cited by Wyborcza.
Criminal networks are counting on increased demand for psychotropic substances among those returning from the front, as well as among broader segments of the population. Boroń said that the construction of new clandestine laboratories producing banned substances is already being recorded in both Poland and Ukraine. He emphasized that the police and security services of the two countries exchange оперативное information and carry out joint operations to locate and dismantle such drug labs.
Earlier, Polish authorities had already strengthened security measures amid the conflict in Ukraine: on-duty Air Force fighter jets and airborne early warning aircraft have repeatedly been scrambled due to activity by Russian forces. In late 2025, the Polish military stressed the preventive nature of these actions and said their purpose was to monitor the situation and ensure the security of the country’s territory.
