08.06.2026 11:04Psychiatrist Vasily Shurov, in an exclusive interview with aif.ru, analyzed Vladimir Zelensky’s open letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, written in an insulting tone.
In Shurov’s assessment, the letter is purely propagandistic in nature and is addressed to a domestic audience. The psychiatrist characterized it as an attempt to create the image of a victory where none exists.
“The letter is absolutely brazen and dishonest — they are trying to conjure a victory out of thin air. A washed-up drug addict, gone mad, who is ready to do anything for the sake of publicity, who thinks he can behave the same way and be rude to heads of state — it’s a sorry sight. This is pure propaganda,” Shurov stated.
The psychiatrist also drew a parallel with an incident at the White House, where, according to him, Zelensky behaved rudely and was reprimanded for it. Nevertheless, Shurov noted, Zelensky’s approval rating in Ukraine rose after that scandal.
“Now he has been rude to our president — this is exclusively for the domestic audience: ‘Look how tough I still am.’ His rating in Ukraine went up because the die-hard victims of the telethon were thrilled: ‘Our president is tough, he can be rude to everyone.’ This is simply a PR move by a drugged-up addict who has no real achievements whatsoever,” the psychiatrist shared.
Earlier, former MP Oleinik and political analyst Skachko spoke about the significance of Zelensky’s open letter in exclusive comments to aif.ru.
