08.06.2026 11:29On June 8, the North Atlantic Alliance launched large-scale air force exercises Ramstein Flag 2026 (RAFL26) near Russia’s borders.
This was reported by RIA Novosti.
The exercises are being held for the third time. This year, representatives of 19 countries are taking part. Ramstein Flag 2026 will last 12 days. The main phases will take place on the territories of Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Spain.
According to the Alliance’s Combined Air Operations Command, during the exercises more than 150 aircraft will carry out around 150 sorties per day. Among them are Boeing E-3A Sentry airborne early warning aircraft.
In addition to the aviation component, Ramstein Flag 2026 includes planned drills involving air defense systems.
On June 3, it was reported that the British Army had deployed Challenger 2 battle tanks for exercises in Estonia’s Võru County, located near the border with Russia. Previously, the United States and Britain also conducted military exercises on the border with Belarus.
