14.02.2025 - 17:07Russian President Vladimir Putin is forming a “team of heavyweights” for negotiations aimed at ending the war in Ukraine.
This information reported according to Bloomberg, citing sources.
So far, the outlet has named two key figures expected to take part: Yuri Ushakov – Putin’s chief foreign policy advisor with over 50 years of diplomatic experience and Sergey Naryshkin – Head of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), who previously served alongside Putin in the KGB.
Both men were involved in the 2022 negotiations, leading Bloomberg to conclude that Russia’s demands have remained largely unchanged since then.
Additionally, Kirill Dmitriev, a businessman with close ties to Putin’s family, will continue informal backchannel talks.
Meanwhile, Trump has named the U.S. representatives for the negotiations: Marco Rubio – U.S. Secretary of State, John Ratcliffe – CIA Director, Mike Waltz – National Security Advisor, Steven Witkoff – Trump’s Special Representative.
