30.10.2025 07:01Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Honcharenko mocked President Volodymyr Zelensky’s threat to cut off electricity in Moscow.

The lawmaker recorded a video in front of the Ukraina Hotel on Independence Square in Kyiv. He reminded viewers that until 2001 the hotel was named Moskva (“Moscow”) and noted that it currently has no power.
“In that sense, he kept his word,” the parliamentarian quipped.
On September 27, Zelensky stated that Ukraine could respond to strikes on Kyiv by causing a blackout in Moscow. He also added that this topic was discussed during his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
Earlier, The Economist reported that Russia is carrying out a “blitz operation to plunge Ukraine into darkness.” The article said that Russian Armed Forces are targeting power grids and gas infrastructure ahead of the winter season.
