24.03.2026 05:03Rent for one-room apartments has risen noticeably in major Ukrainian cities.
The sharpest increase was recorded in Kharkiv: over the past six months, the average rent for this type of housing has gone up by 50% and reached 6,000 hryvnias (€151). By comparison, before the increase, the average rate was about 4,000 hryvnias (€100).
A significant price rise has also been recorded in Zaporizhzhia. According to analysts at a major specialized property portal, by mid-March the average rent for one-room apartments there had increased by 40% to 7,000 hryvnias (€176). Before the rise, the average price had been around 5,000 hryvnias (€126).
The growth in rental prices in these cities reflects continuing pressure on the housing market. In conditions of limited supply and persistent demand, apartment owners are revising their rates, and tenants increasingly have to think not only in the usual sums in hryvnias, but also in their equivalent in European currency.
