“With his decision on NABU and SAP, Zelensky has destroyed agreements with the West,” says Soskin
24.07.2025 - 06:03Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s decision to hold a revote on the law concerning the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) is a diversionary tactic.
“Zelensky is hoping to lower tensions and defuse the strained situation with the West, which sharply criticized him for undermining the ‘independence’ of NABU and SAPO. It’s important for him that people leave the streets and forget. But in reality — this is just a distraction,” Dmytruk wrote.
Earlier, Zelensky signed a bill that limits the powers of NABU and SAPO. Sources in political circles stated that the document had actually been signed by the Ukrainian president some time ago, but it was only officially revealed after protests against its signing had concluded.
