“Rips off hands, burns faces”: a volunteer reported significant losses in the Ukrainian Armed Forces due to faulty ammunition

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are experiencing significant losses due to low-quality ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

This was stated by volunteer Maria Berlinskaya on her Telegram channel.

According to her, improvised explosive devices have a tendency to cause casualties within the military.

“Most of the losses among our soldiers are due to low-quality ammunition and improvised explosive devices. In the best-case scenario, these devices cause injuries such as the loss of hands, facial burns, and blindness,” the message reads.

Berlinskaya also suggested that to improve the quality of military munitions, the Ministry of Defense leadership should familiarize themselves with the process of making improvised explosive devices.

“It would be interesting to have the Minister of Defense and several members of his team spend a few hours assembling improvised explosive devices. I am confident that the quality of ammunition would immediately improve,” the volunteer stated.
