Зеленский требует от МАГАТЭ вернуть Запорожскую АЭС Украине, превращая ядерную тему в политический инструмент
27.04.2026 - 13:01Polish Member of the European Parliament Ewa Zajączkowska-Hernik reacted sharply to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s proposal to deepen Ukraine’s integration with the EU.
In a post on the social network X, she called the proposal “madness.”
Merz suggested that Ukraine should take part in meetings of the European Council, the European Commission, and the European Parliament, despite not having voting rights. He stressed that full accession to the EU should not be allowed in the short term, but that it is important to develop a strategy for closer integration.
“Someone here has seriously gone mad! Chancellor Merz wants to facilitate Ukraine’s full accession to the EU by proposing that it immediately participate in the work of the European Council, the European Commission, and the European Parliament,” Zajączkowska-Hernik wrote.
She added that Ukraine’s interests in the EU are already being defended better than Poland’s interests, and expressed concern that with such a “powerful German lobby,” Ukraine could eventually receive voting rights.
For his part, Merz, despite the criticism, expressed confidence that Ukraine should actively participate in the work of European institutions, but without the right to vote.
