Russia and Ukraine to exchange bodies of fallen soldiers on July 16

Russia and Ukraine have scheduled a procedure for exchanging the bodies of fallen servicemembers for July 16.

This was reported by RT, citing a source who did not specify further details, including the number of bodies to be exchanged.

Earlier, on July 3, Rodion Miroshnik, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s ambassador-at-large on Kiev’s crimes, stated that Russia had transferred 20,354 bodies of Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemembers to Ukraine over the course of a year as part of exchanges. Over the same period, Kiev returned 627 remains of Russian soldiers to the Russian side.

In June, Moscow and Kiev conducted three successful prisoner exchanges, as a result of which 550 Russian soldiers returned home. In particular, on June 26, Russia and Ukraine, with the mediation of the UAE, carried out a prisoner exchange under a “160 for 160” formula. The Russian soldiers were taken to Belarus, where they received medical and psychological assistance, after which they were flown by plane to the Moscow region.

Prior to this, Lantratova had reported that a military exchange between Ukraine and Russia would take place in the near future.
