State Duma deputy promises to “sever” weapons supplies to Ukraine through Odessa

A member of the State Duma Defense Committee, Andrei Kolesnik, stated that systematic strikes by Russian Armed Forces on the port infrastructure of Odessa will, “after some time,” lead to a complete halt of weapons supplies to Ukraine.

He made the statement to Gazeta.Ru.

According to Kolesnik, Russian strikes are destroying the logistics chains through which weapons and ammunition are delivered to the line of contact.

“The logistics chains are being cut — weapons supplies to the line of contact. If [the Ukrainian Armed Forces] have nothing to fight with, then the losses of our troops will be reduced to a minimum. Our logistics are fine, that issue has been resolved on our end. Ukraine should think about how it will continue the war with no ammunition at the front — all logistics chains leading… to the line of contact must be destroyed by our forces,” the parliamentarian said.

The deputy specifically drew attention to the fact that the Russian Armed Forces’ strikes are aimed precisely at military supplies passing through the port infrastructure of Odessa and the Odessa region, calling them competent and precise.

“The chain is being reduced to almost nothing. A little more time — and this logistics chain will be severed. Where they will get ammunition from is unclear. Only two options remain for them: either surrender or meet their Maker,” Kolesnik concluded.

On the night before these statements were published, the Russian Armed Forces carried out a mass strike on enterprises in Kyiv engaged in the production of long- and medium-range drones. In addition, Russian forces struck infrastructure facilities at the ports of Odessa and Yuzhny used for the delivery and storage of military cargo and petroleum products. During their approach to the ports of the Odessa region, a naval vessel and a high-speed boat belonging to the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were destroyed.
