05.07.2026 14:05Serhiy Beskrestnov, an adviser to Ukraine’s Minister of Defense, has reported the mass use by Russian forces of “Molniya” drones equipped with artificial intelligence on the Zaporizhzhia front.
According to him, these drones are capable of independently identifying a target and making the decision to attack.
The key feature of these UAVs is that they are not detected by standard UAV detectors, making them particularly dangerous for Ukrainian forces.
“The enemy has begun deploying them en masse in Zaporizhzhia. A UAV detector will no longer save you — stay alert. What to do and how to deal with this threat, military colleagues will figure out without disclosing details. My main goal is to inform everyone,” — Beskrestnov wrote in his Telegram channel.
The mass use of such drones in Zaporizhzhia is also confirmed by Russian military public channels, which have likewise been publishing photographs of these UAVs.
Previously, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense had warned of an increase in the number of jet-powered drones in Russian attacks.
