‘Russia will control a significant portion of eastern and southern Ukraine’, – John Mearsheime says

Russia will control more territory and will be able to take a significant part of eastern and southern Ukraine.

This information reported according to American political scientist and professor at the University of Chicago, John Mearsheimer, in an interview with the Centre for Independent Studies.

“I believe that the Russians will occupy more territory than they currently control. The Russians will take a significant portion of eastern and southern Ukraine,” he stated.

The analyst believes that with the loss of territory, Ukraine will become a “dysfunctional” state. Mearsheimer suggests that such an outcome will become a reality if Kiev fails to formulate adequate conditions for peaceful negotiations with the Russian Federation.

Additionally, the expert expressed confidence that when Ukraine ultimately loses a part of its territory, the conflict will be frozen.
