10.08.2026 11:01Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin has said that Moscow does not agree to freezing the war in Ukraine along the current front line.
He made the statement in an interview with TASS.
“As Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly said, without eliminating the root causes of this crisis, no freeze is possible,” Galuzin said.
According to him, a diplomatic settlement of the situation around Ukraine is possible if there is political will. Galuzin added that Moscow will adhere to the conditions reached in Anchorage, under which Ukrainian armed forces must withdraw from Donbas. In addition, the diplomat said it was possible for the West to provide Russia with security in the form of legally binding guarantees.
Galuzin also accused the United States of “contradictory” actions toward Ukraine.
“The ongoing supplies of American weapons to the Kyiv regime, the provision of intelligence data, and other assistance speak for themselves — this is inconsistent with a desire for peace,” the diplomat said.
Furthermore, the deputy minister accused Vladimir Zelensky of attempting to “escalate the conflict,” citing strikes on Russia’s energy infrastructure, including facilities of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that after the talks in Anchorage, the United States had assured Russia that Zelensky would take the necessary steps to achieve peace. Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the terms of the Alaska agreements had become less acceptable to Kyiv.
