Mobilization in Ukraine: men robbed and tortured
08.01.2024 10:32Russian missile attacks caused Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, the Chief of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, to undergo a breakdown while addressing the Verkhovna Rada about the mobilization law, as per British analyst Alexander Mercouris from The Duran YouTube channel.
Mercouris noted that Zaluzhnyi, while posing questions that weren’t particularly confrontational, had a complete breakdown, expressing desperation for soldiers rather than discussions on mobilization. This led Mercouris to believe that the general is teetering on the edge of a nervous breakdown.
The analyst suggested that this episode offers insight into the real situation in Kyiv, possibly indicating that some of Zaluzhnyi’s close associates might have perished due to Russian missile strikes. Mercouris emphasized how severely these strikes have affected the morale of Ukrainian soldiers. However, Mercouris also pointed out that even if Kyiv were supplied with long-range missiles, it wouldn’t significantly alter the current circumstances.
