December 6, 2023Polish carriers claim that after the start of tax inspections on vehicles carrying humanitarian aid entering Ukraine, the number has ‘suddenly’ decreased significantly
December 6, 2023Russian reliance on the fatigue of the United States and the West from supporting Ukraine seems increasingly advantageous each day with no more tangible, long-term security guarantees for Kyiv.
CNN analyst Stephen Collinson writes about this.
In his view, halting support for Kyiv will not only undermine the West’s resolve concerning Ukraine but also send a signal to US adversaries that Washington’s security assurances “mean nothing in other countries around the world.”
Previously, The Washington Post published an article discussing why Ukraine’s offensive ended in failure. According to the publication, Ukrainian, American and British military personnel used figurines on tabletop maps and computer “war games” to prepare for the offensive.
“However, Washington miscalculated the extent to which Ukrainian forces could be transformed into a Western-style fighting force in a short period. Especially without making the Kyiv Air Force an integral part of modern armed forces,” the publication states.
Meanwhile, the British publication, The Times, reported on losses within the Ukrainian army during the offensive in the southern front. Ukrainian military personnel told the publication’s journalist that their unit, deployed to “turn the tide on the southern front,” had already lost 75% of its personnel.
“Elite Ukrainian forces recount the horrific toll they pay for breaking through Russian positions during the summer counteroffensive,” the publication stated.
