28.09.2026 06:02South Korea continues to criticize Ukraine for publicly revealing information about the transfer of two captured North Korean soldiers to Seoul.
A new statement was made by South Korean presidential senior secretary for public affairs Song Gi-heon.
According to him, the two sides had agreed in advance to keep the transfer of the prisoners from North Korea secret, but Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky broke that promise. Kyiv denies that any such obligation existed; however, the South Korean presidential administration insists that a non-disclosure agreement was in place.
“We express deep regret over Ukraine’s unilateral disclosure of information and the subsequent false claim that there was no non-disclosure agreement,” Song Gi-heon said.
In addition, the secretary suggested that Seoul may take “additional measures” against Kyiv. According to an official statement, “the presidential administration representative added that the possibility of taking additional measures on this matter is being considered, if necessary.”
Earlier, the editorial team analyzed in a separate article what the consequences for Ukraine could be following the scandal over the Korean prisoners.
