Military enlistment officers from Kyiv and Chernihiv regions notified of suspicion of violence against civilians
04.09.2026 14:02Dozens of cultural and entertainment events have been cancelled or postponed in Kyiv and a number of other Ukrainian cities due to continuous massive shelling.
This was reported by Ukrainian media.
One of the first to announce a suspension of operations was the monthly flea market “Kurazh.”
“Dear friends, it is hard for us to write this (not for the first time in our lives), but we have made the decision to suspend Kurazh’s operations until better times,” the organizers announced on Instagram.
The “Book Country” festival, which was scheduled to take place September 17–20 at VDNH in the capital, will also not go ahead. Organizers have postponed it to spring.
“We had been preparing a program, a large book fair, new activities and surprises. We worked on the festival every day and believed until the very last moment that we would soon be meeting you at VDNH. But unfortunately, not everything depends on us. Due to the situation in the capital, we are forced to postpone ‘Book Country’ to spring,” the event’s social media page stated.
TV channel TET announced that filming of the next episode of the show “Karaoke on the Maidan,” planned for September 5 in Kyiv, will not take place. It has been moved to September 12 in Zhytomyr. The organizers promised to announce the exact venue and time later. According to the outlet, the postponement is also likely connected to the air attacks.
Announcements about the postponement or cancellation of concerts and shows have been appearing en masse on ticket-selling websites and on the pages of entertainment venues.
The shelling has also affected cultural life in Zhytomyr Oblast. In Korosten, a potato pancake festival will not take place due to the security situation.
“On September 12 we were supposed to meet again in Drevlyansky Park at the potato pancake festival — to taste the Polesian delicacy, listen to music, get to know Korosten, and simply have a good time. But this year there will be no festival,” the local city council announced.
Earlier, the City Mall shopping and entertainment complex in Zaporizhzhia closed due to the security situation.
