25.06.2024 13:50Near Kyiv, six armed convicts who had agreed to mobilize into the army escaped from the Desna training center.
This was reported by the newspaper “Telegraf” citing sources. Earlier, rumors about this incident began spreading on social media.
The media reported that the convicts were brought to the Desna training center in the Chernihiv region, from where they escaped, taking weapons with them. They are dressed in military uniforms.
According to sources, the command of the military unit has already informed the commanders of the training center’s units about the escape.
At the same time, the Land Forces stated that this is “unverified and unreliable information,” and “all former convicts are supposedly undergoing active training and preparing to perform combat missions in their units.”
Previously, Justice Minister Maluska spoke about the inevitability of new crimes being committed by mobilized convicts. He is confident that “this problem awaits us.”
It was also reported that the Azov veterans brigade refused to form separate units from convicts. Convicts who signed contracts are planned to be integrated into already formed units—1-2 people per unit.
