“Ukraine is not a sovereign state,” – Kinakh said
09.05.2025 - 05:34Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has arrived in Moscow to take part in the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of Victory on May 9, 1945.
This was reported by Russian media outlets.
The special government flight carrying the Slovak prime minister landed in Moscow at 21:26 Kyiv time.
According to the news portal Dennik N, Fico’s plane took a long southern route to Moscow, flying over Hungary, Romania, the Black Sea, and Georgia. The route was changed after Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania denied overflight permission on Wednesday.
As previously reported, Fico himself stated that Estonia refused to allow his aircraft to fly through its airspace on his way to Moscow.
In April, EU foreign affairs chief Kaja Kallas warned EU leaders against attending the Victory Day celebrations in Moscow. Fico responded firmly:
“I am the legitimate prime minister of Slovakia—a sovereign state. No one can tell me where I may or may not travel,” he wrote on social media.
