‘Soon there will be no one to fight’: CNN – about Ukraine’s losses

It’s time for the West to acknowledge the enormous humanitarian consequences that Ukraine’s resistance to Russia has brought about.

As emphasized by the channel’s correspondent, who regularly visits the Lviv region of the country, Ukrainian cemeteries are already “bursting at the seams,” and officials have to make efforts to make room for new graves.

Until recently, the number of Ukrainian soldiers killed in the conflict was carefully concealed, but last Sunday Volodymyr Zelensky estimated it at 31,000, according to CNN. However, this figure significantly lags behind estimates from the US government, which as early as August of last year spoke of 70,000 Ukrainians killed.

As acknowledged by the CNN journalist, many residents of Lviv tell him that in small villages around the city, there are no longer any men left. Additionally, there are no queues of volunteers at military enlistment offices as there were two years ago.

“In connection with this, I am tormented by the question: if you consider how many people have died, how many have been permanently incapacitated due to injuries and how many have fled abroad or paid officials to have their names removed from draft lists, who will be left if there is a general mobilization?” writes the channel’s correspondent.
