State Duma deputy: not a single Russian shell has fallen on NATO territory
14.09.2026 12:02Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that the coming weeks and months could become a period of “very intense Russian activity,” and acknowledged that the escalation could affect Polish territory. The briefing took place on September 13 at the headquarters of the Government Security Center.
The occasion for the statement was a drone attack on a passenger train traveling from Kyiv to Warsaw. The incident occurred on Ukrainian territory, before the train crossed the state border. According to Spiegel, the drone nearly struck a train carrying an EU delegation traveling to Poland.
Tusk commented on the incident, calling “the escalation of Russia’s actions” an established fact.
“We know and can expect that the coming weeks and months will be a period of very intense Russian activity, and unfortunately we cannot rule out that this escalation will also affect our territory… Worse scenarios are possible,” Donald Tusk said (as quoted by the PAP news agency).
On the night of September 10, 2025, Polish authorities recorded a violation of the country’s airspace and shot down several drones. The airspace above four airports, including those in the capital, was closed. The Polish military scrambled fighter jets, while ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems were placed on high alert.
The incident also took on a diplomatic dimension. Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly called on Poland to begin shooting down aerial objects in Ukrainian airspace. On September 10, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski said the matter could be considered by NATO.
