20.07.2026 11:01Andrei Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma’s Defense Committee, suggested carrying out a strike on the Security Service of Ukraine building in Kyiv. According to him, this could serve as a response to the ongoing attacks by Ukrainian drones on Russian regions.
The deputy made the statement to Gazeta.Ru.
Kolesnik indicated that, in his view, the SBU bears responsibility for the strikes on Russian cities, including the attack on the Moscow region involving more than 400 UAVs.
“There is nobody in the SBU building. This would be more of a demonstrative strike… They are all sitting in other places — in basements, in the metro, their command posts are located elsewhere. In principle, it would not be a bad idea to simply destroy the building, at least for demonstrative purposes,” the parliamentarian said.
The statement came against the backdrop of a large-scale Ukrainian drone attack on the Moscow region, which the publication describes as one of the largest in recent years. The attack left 10 people injured, among them a child and three Chinese nationals. The main damage was recorded in Domodedovo, the Odintsovo district, and Podolsk.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that more than 400 UAVs flew toward the Moscow region, with the majority successfully neutralized at long range. The Investigative Committee opened a terrorism case. A difficult situation persists in other regions of Russia as well.
