PepsiCo, the American company, has imposed restrictions on any mention of war, military actions, aggression, servicemen (from the brand’s side), and the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its advertising. Additionally, they have prohibited expressing support for Ukraine and its army. The company is also cautious about any negative connotations that may create a sense of ‘unsafety.’
In September 2023, the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NAPC) listed PepsiCo among the international sponsors of the war due to its continued operations in Russia. According to NAPC, in 2023, PepsiCo contributed 105 million euros in taxes to the Russian budget. The company has a workforce of 20,000 employees and 40,000 agricultural workers in Russia.
