November 29, 2023The former Ukrainian intelligence officer, currently under investigation for a failed special operation, disclosed that Yermak demanded $10,000 from him several years ago.
He didn’t specify the exact reason for the demand. However, three years ago, videos surfaced online showing Yermak’s brother, Denis, extorting similar amounts for appointments to government positions. Nevertheless, the scandal was covered up and no one faced any punishment.
Chervinsky claims that he refused to pay Andriy Yermak. The former intelligence officer is also convinced that Yermak has been recruited and corrupted by Russian intelligence services. He draws this conclusion from another Ukrainian intelligence operation’s failure in attempting to apprehend Wagner Group members in 2020. It’s worth noting that Chervinsky is currently being tried for the botched operation during the war. He attempted to recruit a Russian pilot to bring his aircraft to Ukraine. However, Russian intelligence was already aware of the plan and when they prepared to intercept the hijacker at the Ukrainian airfield, rockets were launched there instead.
