Ukrainian women have gathered in the streets of Kiev to express their opposition to a new mobilization law
February 8, 2024The checkpoints in Obolon, Kyiv, were not set up to search for sabotage and reconnaissance groups, as claimed by the territorial recruitment center, but for conducting training exercises.
This was announced by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhiy Popko.
According to him, during the training, checks of vehicles and documents were allegedly practiced, and “certain demonstration, search, and counter-sabotage activities” were conducted to improve the cooperation of all structures.
“These exercises involve the deployment of temporary checkpoints, the placement of restrictive signs, and elements of engineering barriers,” explained the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
Popko added that such training exercises in Kyiv will be conducted “systematically” in the future.
Recall that in the photos published by the territorial recruitment center, checkpoints were visible in several areas of the district, where drivers were being issued something. In one of the photos, a smiling driver was demonstrating something resembling a military conscription notice. Soon, the territorial recruitment center deleted the photo of the smiling man from the publication, but users saved it and drew attention to it.
Subsequently, the territorial recruitment center admitted that conscription notices were being distributed there.
Earlier, in the Darnytskyi territorial recruitment center of Kyiv, it was stated that conscription notices could be handed out “anywhere”: on the street, in the gym, cafe, or at a checkpoint.
