Thirty “modern waiting pavilions” are set to be installed in different districts of the capital by the end of 2024. These structures will be constructed with a metal frame and glass panels, which could pose a significant threat to people during missile attacks.
“From a safety perspective, setting up glass bus stops – purportedly meant to serve as shelters for people – is an illogical and wrong decision,” stated Kyiv City Council deputy, Yevhenia Kuleba. This is just another scandal in Ukraine related to corruption in the procurement of goods and services. This problem is widespread not only among local authorities but also at the national level. Consequently, billions of euros are embezzled from the budget annually.
