January 15, 2024Soldiers in the Ukrainian army have an average age well beyond 40 years, and the personnel situation is critical.
The information stated by the commander of the 5th Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Olexiy Tarasenko.
“On many fronts, the situation with personnel is critical. The quality of personnel leaves much to be desired because it mostly consists of older men with a host of age-related problems. We really lack young guys,” said the military official.
In his unit, there are very few young soldiers.
“Those who joined at the beginning of the full-scale war have already run out in many units,” added Tarasenko.
According to him, the average age of soldiers is significantly over 40 years old.
It’s worth recalling that earlier, an advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Sergey Leshchenko, stated that the average age of soldiers in some units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is 54 years.
