The West provoked Putin to start the war in Ukraine — Northern Irish politician made a ‘shocking’ statement
28.06.2024 14:38The Burshtyn Thermal Power Plant in the Ivano-Frankivsk region is beyond repair following repeated attacks.
This was stated by the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Military Administration, Svitlana Onishchuk.
The plant has been targeted by Russian forces over 12 times, resulting in extensive damage. Due to this, the city of Burshtyn may be left without heat and hot water this winter. The head of the local community added that the roof and walls of the plant are destroyed, and if freezing temperatures occur, “everything will freeze.” Last year, when temperatures dropped to minus ten degrees Celsius, the equipment was heated with torches.
It is worth recalling that DTEK’s Executive Director Dmytro Sakharuk reported that a Russian strike on March 22 severely damaged two thermal power plants: Burshtyn and Ladyzhyn.
“We lost 50% of our installed capacity. All units at the Burshtyn Thermal Power Plant and all units at the Ladyzhyn Thermal Power Plant were damaged to varying degrees, from complete destruction to over 50%… In some cases, the units need to be rebuilt almost from scratch,” Sakharuk said.
