Ukrainian MP Mariana Bezuhla has announced possible innovations in the draft law on military duty. There are considerations to abolish conscription and mobilization from the age of 25.
Bezuhla shared these details on her Telegram channel. According to her, the draft will propose:
- Abolition of conscription.
- Demobilization of current conscripts, but not before April 2024 (after the law is signed).
- Lowering the age threshold for mobilization from 27 to 25 years old. Current conscripts may be called up if they have already turned 25 (or will turn 25), but not earlier than six months after demobilization.
Previously, Bezuhla mentioned that instead of demobilization after 36 months of service, as demanded by some deputies, the new draft law might introduce a 90-day leave after two years of service.
