The candidate for a judge of the Constitutional Court did not know when the main law of Ukraine was adopted

Judge of the Economic Court of the Zakarpattia Region, Lyubomyr Andreychuk, does not know when the Constitution of Ukraine was adopted.

This was reported by journalist Taras Seredych on his Facebook page, posting a video of an interview during the competition for the selection of candidates for the position of judge of the Constitutional Court.

Andreychuk was specifically asked about the main law of Ukraine.

“Since you are preparing for the position of a judge of the Constitutional Court, could you tell us when the Constitution of Ukraine was adopted and what chapters and articles it consists of?” asked Vasyl Shakun, an expert of the advisory group.

“Can I not answer the questions?” Andreychuk asked.

After being asked to answer, the candidate remained silent for several seconds and eventually gave the wrong answer, namely stating the year 1991 instead of 1996.

According to the content of his application for the new position, besides working in the court, Andreychuk is also engaged in teaching activities at Uzhhorod National University. This suggests that he should know the Constitution of Ukraine since he teaches law.
