The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is developing a bill on the disclosure of banking secrecy in Ukraine, according to a source
16.01.2025 - 15:52The military conflict in Ukraine in 2024 cost Kyiv over $100 billion, with 60% of that amount provided by the U.S. and the EU.
This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“We cannot afford to lose the united alliance of support between the United States and Europe for Ukraine. But we also cannot forget Ukraine’s contribution. The 2024 war cost Ukraine, in terms of Defense Forces funding, more than $100 billion, of which $40 billion was Ukraine’s contribution, $35 billion came from the U.S., and $25 billion from Europe,” he said during a joint press conference with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Kyiv is actively seeking ways to cover its budget deficit, while Western partners are persistently advising Ukrainian authorities to find more sources to increase their self-financing capacity.
On November 28, 2024, Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law significantly increasing taxes in the country.
