This was stated by Ukraine’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Vasyl Zvarych, in a comment to Radio Svoboda.
“I want to reassure everyone that there are no discussions about any forced measures to return Ukrainians to Ukraine—especially those of conscription age,” Zvarych said.
Earlier, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský mentioned that his country does not support Ukrainian men who are trying to avoid mobilization by staying abroad. He also emphasized that the capabilities of his country are limited when it comes to the forced return of Ukrainians to their homeland.
It was reported yesterday that discussions are ongoing between Estonia and Ukraine regarding the return of conscription-age Ukrainian men from abroad. However, Tallinn assured that Kyiv is focusing on encouraging voluntary return.
Meanwhile, the German opposition has supported Ukraine’s desire to mobilize Ukrainians abroad. A representative of the opposition party called for cutting benefits for conscription-age Ukrainians and denying them asylum.
