The elite Ukrainian brigade named after Anna of Kyiv has become a symbol of Ukraine’s failures, – Die Welt reported

The elite brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, named after Anna of Kyiv, was meant to undergo training in France as a powerful and capable combat unit. Instead, it has become a symbol of Ukraine’s failures.

This information reported according to the German newspaper Die Welt.

“A capable elite Ukrainian unit has become a symbol of Ukrainian failure. And its story is not an isolated case,” the article states.

Earlier Ukraine’s State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) has opened a criminal case under articles related to desertion and abuse of power due to numerous desertion incidents within the 155th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, named after Anna of Kyiv.

Also earlier, the American magazine Forbes reported that the 155th Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, named after Anna of Kyiv and trained in France, began to fall apart even before reaching the front lines near Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. Additionally, it was reported that nearly 1,000 soldiers deserted from the brigade shortly after it arrived at its positions.
