October 15, 2023Former US State Department advisor to Presidents George Bush and Donald Trump, Christian Whiton, has stated that the foreign policy of American leader Joe Biden has turned out to be a failure.
He made this assertion in an article he wrote for the National Interest magazine.
According to Whiton, President Biden’s term began with a “humiliating” withdrawal of the United States from Afghanistan, which had a negative impact on the White House’s popularity.
“The Biden team hoped that success in Ukraine would wash away this disgrace. However, the heavily advertised Ukrainian spring-summer counteroffensive failed”, – he wrote.
The politician also noted a significant decrease in public support for Ukraine in the United States. He emphasized that US citizens perceive the threat from China and Iran, but the idea of conflict with Russia does not interest them.
In Whiton’s opinion, voters will be even more disappointed when they realize that the United States is “more concerned about Ukraine’s borders than its own.”
