“A warm spell will add only an extra 1.5–2 hours of electricity per day for Kyiv,” – an expert says
22.01.2026 13:19The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv has revised the preventive measure in the case of former Odesa mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.
This was reported to journalists by Trukhanov’s lawyer, Oleksandr Lysak.
According to him, Trukhanov’s preventive measure was changed from house arrest to a personal undertaking, and the electronic bracelet was removed.
Recall that in October Trukhanov was served a notice of suspicion under Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (official negligence resulting in the deaths of people). Similar suspicions were issued to seven other city hall employees, including two of Trukhanov’s deputies.
Investigators believe that Trukhanov improperly performed his duties and failed to ensure the proper functioning of the city’s engineering networks. Despite longstanding problems with flooding, he did not initiate repairs of the stormwater drainage and drainage systems, and on the day of the natural disaster he did not organize public alerts.
