The functions of the Central Medical-Social Expert Commission will be performed by the Research Institute for Disability Issues

The Ukrainian State Research Institute of Medical and Social Disability Issues, located in Dnipro, will assume the functions of the Central Medical-Social Expert Commission.

This decision was announced by Ukraine’s Ministry of Health.

The institute will handle appeals and review the legitimacy of decisions made by regional medical-social expert commissions.

It’s worth recalling that the Cabinet of Ministers recently approved the creation of a group to reassess the decisions of medical-social expert commissions regarding disability certifications.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health announced the dismissal of the Central Medical-Social Expert Commission’s leadership and several ministry officials due to a corruption scandal.

It was revealed that 18 out of 25 heads of medical-social expert commissions are officially millionaires, with the wealthiest being Tetyana Krupa, head of the Khmelnytsky Medical-Social Expert Commission, who is already under criminal investigation.

However, Viktor Pavlushchyk, head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention, noted that confiscating the property of these commission heads is not currently possible, as they only face charges related to inaccurate financial declarations.
