03.12.2024 - 19:07Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, after meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow, expressed hope that these negotiations would help bring peace to Ukraine.
“We want peace, and I hope that today’s talks will bring us closer to peace,” the minister emphasized.
Szijjártó added that many dangerous and irresponsible decisions have been made regarding the situation around Ukraine, which also creates a threat to Hungary, which is located near the country where the armed conflict is ongoing.
The Hungarian Foreign Minister also noted that Budapest has a clear goal to develop relations with Moscow in all areas not affected by sanctions. He expressed hope for progress on these issues.
On December 2, Szijjártó arrived in Moscow for an official visit as part of Budapest’s peace initiative aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
