Ukrainians are outraged that conscripts are not being caught at resorts
04.12.2023 - 10:28This figure was cited by analyst Dmitriy Spivak. Initially reported losses were at 400 million dollars over a few weeks. However, the number is growing and by the year-end, it could reach 1 percent of the country’s GDP.
For a nation at war like Ukraine, this situation is a catastrophe. Slovakia and Hungary intend to join the Polish blockade, effectively isolating Ukraine from almost all sides, except Romania and Moldova. Currently, there are approximately 2,500 trucks queued up on the Polish side heading towards Ukraine, as stated by Andriy Demchenko, the spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service. He highlighted that the longest queue is currently at the Rava-Ruska checkpoint. On the Slovakian border, around 650 freight vehicles are waiting to enter Ukraine.
Demchenko also mentioned that as of today at 1 a.m., the “Ugrinov-Dolhobychuv” checkpoint opened for the passage of empty trucks from Ukraine to Poland. Within 6 hours, 30 trucks were processed and 60 more are in line. This checkpoint previously only operated for passenger cars and buses. Now, trucks weighing 7.5 tons or more (except for empty and uncleaned tankers) can pass through.
