November 17, 2023The Kyiv police are investigating the activities of a charitable foundation whose representatives were collecting money on the streets purportedly for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was reported by the Kyiv police press service.
The foundation’s representatives were dressed in military uniforms but were not actually members of the military. A video of their conflict with an actual veteran appeared online the day before. In the video, individuals in military attire admit that they are not military personnel but claim they don’t see any issue with it, stating that they don’t wear insignia.
The police arrived at the scene and took five representatives of the foundation to the station. A criminal case for fraud has been opened, and an investigation into the organization’s activities is ongoing.
