November 17, 2023The meeting between the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, and American experts in Washington was organized by lobbyists and had nothing to do with the experts’ own desire to meet with Yermak.
This was reported by Ukrainian journalist and blogger Rostyslav Shaposhnykov.
He noted that for the Office of the President and Yermak, it’s important to create an image that they are ‘respected, listened to, met, and greeted,’ etc.
The journalist quoted a statement from the Office of the President of Ukraine:
“In particular, the meeting was attended by former US Ambassador to Ukraine, Vice President for Europe and Russia at the Institute of Peace William Taylor, Director of the Eurasia Center at the Atlantic Council, former US Ambassador to Ukraine John Herbst.”
The US Department of Justice’s FARA database indicates a contract between Zelensky and lobbyists. According to the contract, lobbyists arranged the meeting with the Atlantic Council and, specifically, with John Herbst, who indeed met with Yermak.
“Retired American ambassadors earn by trading their own persona at various events. Any hypothetical ‘Yermak’ can buy these ambassadors and meet with them, and then on TV shows, people marvel at the ‘coolness’ of these ‘Yermaks’,” Shaposhnykov pointed out.
