The Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications has confirmed the status of certain TV channels and media outlets as critically important for the economy during martial law.
This is stated in ministry orders dated January and February.
The following TV channels have been designated as critically important:
- We Are Ukraine
- Channel 5
- 1+1
- Pryamyy
- Inter
- ICTV
- Novyi Kanal
- STB
- UNIAN TV
- Channels of the state enterprise Multimedia Platform for Ukraine’s International Broadcasting
Additionally, this status has been confirmed for the following media organizations:
- Ukrainska Pravda
- New Voice (NV)
- National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NSJU)
- Podrobnosti
- Melodia FM radio
Employees of these media outlets are granted exemption from mobilization.
Last spring, Ukraine faced controversy over a Ministry of Culture order that granted mobilization exemptions to circus employees.
